snow day with our little girl

Cedar got a big kick out of the snow last Saturday. Here she is in her pink sled from her pop pop. I went outside to snap a few photos then ran back inside to be by the woodstove with Eli. It was raw out! Stubborn girl who insisted on taking off her gloves. Sometimes there is no reasoning with a two year old either!
and here's Eli chewing away inside…Our little man is 5 months now. Time is a flyin'!

Snow woman

We built our snow woman this afternoon, complete with M&M eyes and Easter egg breasts. They were going to be buttons but we got creative. Cedar approved with a gentle hug. Then traded hats and gave another hug...Then it was time for Willow to get a hug....Poor Willow and her snow dreads.

Snow day in black and white

We got about 9 inches of snow last night. I love being in the woods with a heavy snow covering all the branches. It's so pretty and I enjoy the stillness and nostalgia of it all. I'm happy that Cedar is at an age to appreciate it too.

Walking down Mimi and Pop's freshly plowed driveway
…an attempt at a 6 month belly shot
so much snow to inspect!
We plan on making a snowman on our next trip out. :)

Weekend update

We continued to work on wiring and plumbing this weekend. Rob was out on Saturday working on the master bath shower and the kitchen island plumbing. Todd and Willy worked on running the wires to the master bedroom and mudroom while Erin plugged away upstairs grounding the wires in each of the boxes. We still have a ways to go but are seeing some progress. Earlier in the week we bought our recessed cans for the kitchen, porch and basement. We temporarily laid them out. Here's part of the kitchen...We started hanging drywall in the basement for dust prevention. We plan on blocking off the mechanical room and setting up the basement as our woodworking shop. Here's Todd in action...
We got a bit distracted by a surprise snow this morning. It made for perfect snowballs and building snowmen. Willy left early for the day so we had to build an assistant. :)

Iced in

It's been pretty icy around the house, which makes a nice canvas for picture taking. Walking seems to be impossible at times. We've both had our fair share of falls getting to the job site! We don't have our snow birds on the porch roof yet and you can see why they would help!B.T. and Cat stopped by on Saturday to check out our progress. Here's B.T. getting some help with the shovel on the way out.
