Yes, we're still here!

I guess it's pretty obvious that we haven't been too productive lately. Scott (aka Brody or Young Buck, if you want to go back even further) was just in town from Oregon. Even though he was only home for a brief visit, we're blaming our lack of progress for the month of February (and January) on him. Too bad Scott had to go back to the other side, but we completely understand why he would want to go back to Stumptown. All the UNO games in the world couldn't convince him to move back to Leesburg. Good news though…our master bathroom shower is all tiled, grouted, caulked and ready for use! We picked up a square piece of tempered glass for the window last week, caulked it in place on Sunday and took our first shower that night. So long upstairs tub shower! We bought a large mirror to put on the wall outside the shower (it's directly across from our closet). We're thinking about painting the bathroom blue...maybe this shade?Todd and Willy started working on the poplar trim a few weeks back. Our basement barely gets above 50 degrees so it's not all that inviting down there.Here they are passing the boards through the incredibly loud planer...…and the jointer
We are currently working on our mudroom bench seat. It's lined in cedar and smells awesome. We trimmed the top in walnut and eventually it will have a hinged walnut lid.No, it's not a coffin.The Woodmizer has been out and about. Todd and Logan are still learning how to operate (and fix) the complicated machine. We are certainly ready for warmer weather so we can get back to the siding. We put up a few oak boards last weekend, but still have a ways to go before the tyvek is covered.The boards look a bit rough without the stain.It's never too early to start on next years wood supply!That's all for now. Oh and Scott, we'll be practicing our darts!
