This too shall pass

We've had one hell of a week. Our poor little man was admitted to the hospital last weekend after having a fever. He was fussy and sleepy and just seemed off. Since he's only 5 weeks I guess a fever is taken pretty seriously. Apparently it has to do with the blood brain barrier with the spine and there is a risk of infection that could be something serious like meningitis. So off we went to the ER and Eli was given a bunch of tests, a spinal tap, antibiotics...yadda yadda and we were told we had to stay 48 hours for the results to come back. It sucked and was stressful but thankfully it wasn't anything serious, just a virus working through his tiny system. He perked up and is much more alert. Well, unfortunately that wasn't the end of it. I went into the pediatricians office today only to find out he has a double ear infection. :( Ugh, I'm so bummed to see him hit with all of this at such a young age. And to top it off, Cedar has Strep! So both kiddos are on meds. I have to remind myself that this will all be in the past one day but geez, somedays being a parent can be really hard. Just so this isn't a total downer of a post I'll leave you with some fun shots taken around the house yesterday. Todd made Cedar her very own trapeze. She likes to grab onto it and say, "Watch this mommy!" She is very proud and loves new things. Who knew an old rolling pin and some rope could be so much fun! And as if Eli hasn't had enough, then he was tortured by his sister....well, I guess I could be to blame too. We couldn't resist. :)
