Hawk Watch

We've been keeping a close eye on our hawk friends lately. It's very exciting that the couple decided to stick around after all the drainfield installation commotion. We have been watching and listening to their behavior when we are working on the house. On Saturday the hawks were very active and we quickly grabbed the camera to snap a few photos. The male hawk was out hunting and then perched himself on his favorite dead Poplar tree for a good 10 minutes. That's him above…Next, the female hawk ventured out of the nest to meet the male. They exchanged what appeared to be food. We aren't positive, but we're pretty sure she's laid the eggs by now. Above shot shows the female flying back to her nest. And here she is back at the nest.
