Nursery sneak peek

I'm a total slacker and didn't take any photos of my Thanksgiving dinner with my family. I think I was too full to pick up the camera. Thank goodness for elastic waistband pregnancy jeans! While Todd was away I did work on organizing and setting up the nursery. I guess that's what they call "nesting." :) The room is all painted (3 walls soft green and one yellow) and the crib is in place, minus the bedding. Her room will have a subtle nature/forest theme. I'm not sure what's getting into me, but I'm developing an owl obsession! I plan to paint a branch above the crib with leaves and birds in fun graphic patterns. Something visually stimulating for baby to look at. It's been awhile since I've done any creative painting so I'm pretty excited to get back into it. There are so many inspiring artists out there. These are prints by artist Camilla Engman that I bought awhile ago.Turns out they were perfect for the room. I love this print by Japanese designer Shinzi Katoh. And these fun bears, that have yet to be framed, are by Helen Acraman of zukzuk. Willow has started going up into the nursery, which is pretty unusual for her. She never goes upstairs! Todd came home one day and she was on the bed amongst all the colorful stuffed animals. She must know what's coming or maybe she just loves the toys! Our newest addition to the bed is this handmade stuffed toy from Portland that Todd brought home from his trip and a burlap elephant from River's recent trip to Mexico. He insisted that our baby have the purple elephant. We'll have many stories to tell our little girl about all of her stuffed animals.

As for the house, we'll be back to trim work this week. The finishing details are tedious but we're getting close.
