Pre-drywall work & play

On Friday morning we were all dressed and ready for work when we got a phone call that our drywall was scheduled to be delivered around 9:30 that morning. We quickly decided it would be best to take the day off. We half expected our drywall crew to show up that afternoon and we needed to run our Cat-5 and Coax cable throughout the house. We also needed to stuff the interior walls with acoustic insulation. As for the drywall, we bought it from a company in Leesburg called Global Supply. Pablo, our drywall guy, referred us to them and our next door neighbor referred us to Pablo. So far things are going pretty smoothly. Global Supply showed up around 10:00 with 174 sheets of drywall and supplies. We popped out an upstairs window and with a boom arm, they hoisted up about 70 sheets and staged them upstairs. The rest of the sheets were wheeled in through the mudroom and positioned throughout the rooms. We couldn't imagine lugging the 4x12 sheets into the house and up the stairs. The crazy thing is, and we're about to find out, that Pablo and his 3 man crew are going to hang all the sheets in 2 days. It would take us about 2 months! So tomorrow is the day–our drywall is going up! Here are some pics taken on Friday…The drywall delivery only took about half an hour. Most of our interior walls are now stuffed with yellow, fish smelling acoustic insulation. Yuck! We certainly won't miss hanging insulation. It's awful stuff and nasty to work with, but we think it's a smart move to fill the walls. It already makes a huge difference in the noise level. It also made for some quality father/daughter bonding! We ended the day with a visit from River, Logan and Kelly.
