From Maysara to Mt. Hood…

We just got back from a whirlwind trip to Oregon. Thanks to Scott and Stephany (and their feline companions) for being awesome hosts & travel guides. We covered alot of ground over the long weekend and are certainly feeling the effects! We traveled to the foothills of McMinnville, OR on Friday and received VIP treatment from everyone at Maysara Winery. Winemaker Todd Hamina took us on a guided tour of the 200+ acre Momtazi Vineyard. It's quite an operation at Maysara. They strive to be self-sustaining and farm biodynamically. It was a treat to see how things go full circle, from the compost piles to grafting the vines, then finishing the day with a Pinot Noir barrel tasting. They even have their own woodmizer! We went to Mt. Hood on Sunday and hit the slopes at Timberline. The scenery was spectacular and our photos don't do it justice.
